Aberystwyth crash victim named as Ellie Bryan, 18

A woman who died in a crash near Aberystwyth has been named as 18-year-old Ellie Bryan.

Ellie, from Aberystwyth, was travelling as a passenger in a Vauxhall Astra which collided with another car on November 16 in Commins Coch.

The driver of the Astra is said to be in hospital in a critical condition and several others are also being treated for serious injuries.

Her family said they are “distraught” by their loss and Ellie “will be missed by us all.”

“We are distraught by our loss of Ellie. She will be missed by us all.

“Ellie was a loving daughter, sister and granddaughter.

“We would like to thank everyone for their support at this devastating time.

“We would appreciate having time to grieve in privacy.”

Dyfed Powys Police had arrested an 18-year-old woman on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and she was released on bail pending further enquiries.

Officers have also arrested a driver of a third car.

Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with any information about the crash to contact them on 101.
