Will it snow on Christmas Day in Glasgow? All you need to know

According to the latest weather forecast from the Met Office, it’s more likely you’ll be turning down the heating than making snow angels in your garden.

A rather tropical 8 degrees is predicted for the city along with fog and cloud.

Thanks to climate change, our hopes are becoming ever more distant of waking up to snow on the big day. According to the Met Office, white Christmases were more frequent in the 18th and 19th centuries, and this has since decreased due to the higher temperatures.

This is despite William Hill taking bets at 5-1 just last week that we would be opening the curtains to a fresh blanket of snow.

Things don’t get much better on Boxing Day, with rain predicted.

So, sadly, put away the sledge and look out the brolly. It’s going to be dreich.
